1. The government narrowly passed the Supply (Reallocation of Appropriated Expenditure) Bill 2020, with 111 votes in favour and 106 votes against, prompting Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim to question whether the government could last.

2. The Election Commission has fixed Sept 12 as the nomination day for the Sabah state election, with while polling day set for Sept 26. Meanwhile, a court decision yesterday that could potentially halt the election has been postponed to Aug 21.

3. Indonesian corruption fugitive Djoko Tjandra, whose company is involved in the construction of 1MDB’s Signature Tower in the Tun Razak Exchange, is found to have been residing in Malaysia as an expatriate under a Papua New Guinea passport.
