RM10bil economic recovery plan announced, and 9 news from yesterday

1. Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin as announced an economic recovery plan with RM10 billion in direct fiscal injection, offering perks such as the free internet, improved social safety net for gig economy workers, and various schemes to bolster the labour market.

2. The plan is was met with mixed reactions from economists, while members of the business community wanted the government to ensure its efficient delivery.

3. Both the defence and prosecution have wrapped up their final submissions in former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s SRC International trial, and the Kuala Lumpur High Court will deliver its verdict on July 28.
