CORONAVIRUS | Malaysia today recorded 39 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 6,467 infections, according to Health Ministry director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Of the new cases, only one was imported while 38 were local transmissions.
Of the 38 local transmissions, only eight, or 21 percent of the new cases, were from the enhanced movement control order (MCO) areas. Only nine involve Malaysian citizens.
Currently, there are 1,584 active Covid-19 cases of which 19 patients require intensive care. Only eight patients require a ventilator.
Noor Hisham (above) said 74 patients were discharged in the past 24-hour period until noon today, bringing the total number of Covid-19 patients discharged to 4,776.
Meanwhile, Noor Hisham said there were no new deaths attributed to Covid-19 in the same 24-hour period ending at noon.
The total number of deaths from Covid-19 in the country stands at 107 or 1.65 percent of the total number of recorded Covid-19 cases.
