CORONAVIRUS | The following is the 10am update from the Communications and Multimedia Ministry Quick Response Team on countering fake news on Covid-19 on social media.

1. The Higher Education Ministry denies issuing Standard Operating Procedures on sending campus-bound students back to their hometowns during the movement control order (MCO) period.

2. Petronas denies news reports of it shutting down 14 oil rigs in Malaysia. The oil giant explained that only certain projects at its rigs were temporarily postponed following the MCO to curb the spread of Covid-19.

However, most of the projects have resumed after getting government approval. - Bernama
