Malaysia has strongly condemned the missile attacks launched by the Houthi rebels towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on March 27 and 28.
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement yesterday, called on the Houthi militias to stop such provocative actions and reiterated Malaysia's strong support for efforts to find a peaceful and lasting solution to the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
"These attacks are indeed unacceptable and appalling, especially when the international community is galvanising concerted efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic and its impacts on the lives of hundreds of thousands of people around the world and on the global economy,” it said.
The missiles were targeted against the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Riyadh and Jazan in the kingdom.
It was fortunate that these missiles were intercepted and no casualties were reported.
