CORONAVIRUS | There are 10 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, bringing the total now to 93.
According to the Health Ministry, all 10 cases are linked to "Patient 33", a 58-year-old male who, according to records, travelled to Kuching for a meeting on Feb 16.
The Health Ministry said four of the new patients were in the first wave of close contacts with Patient 33, while six others were in the second wave of close contacts.
Patient 33 was also a close contact case with Patient 26, Khazanah executive director Hisham Hamdan.
Hisham yesterday issued a statement that while he is linked to the second wave of infections, he was not the source of it.
The Health Ministry said its latest investigations on close contacts to Hisham found that one cluster was linked to Patient 33.
It said there were a total of 132 close contacts from this cluster, of whom 18 tested positive for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, the ministry said Patient 78 had a record of travelling to Indonesia for seven days starting Feb 13, and started showing symptoms on Feb 19.
Indonesia has declared four Covid-19 patients so far, but there are concerns that cases are being underreported.
