Newly minted Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today met with high-ranking officials from the International Trade and Industry Ministry for a briefing on the country’s trade situation.
The ministry was formerly helmed by Warisan’s Penampang MP Darell Leiking prior to the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government last week.
In a posting on Muhyiddin’s official Facebook page, it was stated the latter met with the ministry's secretary-general and other high-level officials.
“In the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on international trade and foreign investments sectors in the country.
“The secretary-general also briefed him on the organising of the Apec (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit for which Malaysia is the host in November,” the posting read.
Muhyiddin had also served as international trade and industry minister in 2008 to 2009 under Abdullah Ahmad Badawi when the latter was the fifth prime minister under the BN rule.
