Destini Bhd (Destini) today announced that the MD530G helicopter project, which was put under review during the transition of the government between 2018 and 2019, has been continued.

Destini, in a statement, said the government had on Jan 15, 2020 given approval for the group to continue executing the remaining contract obligations with the MD530G programme.

"All six helicopters are ready for pre-delivery inspections and training in the US.

"The group is working closely with the Ministry of Defence to make administrative arrangements for the execution of the remaining activities. All six helicopters are scheduled to be delivered this year," it said.

In early 2017, Destini acquired a 70 per cent stake in a military helicopter supply company, which was awarded a contract to supply six Multipurpose Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters worth RM321.9 million to the Malaysian Army.
