Dengkil assemblyperson Adhif Syan Abdullah and political aide Ahmad Redzuan Shafi have been suspended from their positions in the Bersatu Youth group Armada.
In a statement by Armada chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, it was announced that the Armada leadership had decided that Ahmad Redzuan would be suspended from the position of Assistant Secretary and replaced by Danial Syahiran Ho.
Adhif Syan (photo) has been suspended from the post of Selangor Armada chief and will be replaced by his deputy Anas Akashah Nazri.
The two men were among 17 individuals, including six women, picked up in a raid at a condominium along Jalan Puchong in the wee hours on Sunday morning.
Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador later confirmed that 16 of them tested positive for drug use.
Police also found powder, suspected to be drugs, at the condominium, as well as playing cards and chips used for gambling.
After their statements were taken, 16 of them were released pending a second drug test, except for a foreign woman who is still being detained.
According to Adhif Syan, he was present to attend a discussion and had done nothing illegal, and was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"This suspension is effective immediately and applies until the completion of the police investigation into the related cases," said Syed Saddiq.
He thanked them for their service and expressed the wish that the investigation is carried out smoothly and fairly in accordance with the law of the country.
