In an innovative move by the Pakatan Harapan government, ministers have been asked to prepare report cards to evaluate their performance for the year 2019.
According to Putrajaya sources, the report cards will include assessments of the work done by the minister and the overall achievements of their ministry.
These report cards are expected to be presented to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the Cabinet meeting tomorrow.
A number of ministers and ministries have already posted their reports on social media and ministry websites with the now-vacant Education Ministry the first to make it public on Dec 13.
All but two ministries have submitted their 2019 report card to the prime minister.
Sources said that while it was initially understood that Mahathir would inform the Cabinet as to the identity of Maszlee's replacement tomorrow, that is now being pushed back as the prime minister has met with a number of ministers to discuss a snap reshuffle involving two or three posts.
The announcement of Maszlee's replacement and the snap reshuffle are expected to come later in the week.
It is not clear whether the report card tallies are directly related to the posts being considered for a change.
On Saturday, Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Yeo Bee Yin released her report saying that her ministry has unlocked 40 achievements in its three key sectors, namely energy, science and technology, as well as environment, over the past 18 months.
Among the achievements cited were energy sector savings of RM11.4 billion in electricity supply costs, the recovery of RM250 million in arrears and the cancellation of 389 non-performing renewable energy projects with savings of RM2.16 billion.
The full reports of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Ministry of Human Resources are also available on the ministry websites.
