Umno Youth leaders have trained their guns on the Pakatan Harapan government over the alleged reign of terror plaguing the nation under its watch.
The latest, said the movement, is the purported attempt to revive communism and change the nation's historical narrative.
Leading the assault was Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki (above), who zeroed in on the presence of PKR and DAP leaders at an event yesterday to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Hat Yai Peace Accord inked between the Malaysian government and Communist Party of Malaya (CPM).
“The gathering involving some 300 former communist 'terrorists' which was attended by leaders of PKR and DAP showcases the true face of the Harapan government which is attempting to chip away at the foundations of race and nation.
“DAP leader Ronnie Liu also proudly revealed that his grandfather and brother were involved in the movement,” he added.
Apart from Liu, who is the Selangor DAP secretary and Sungai Pelek assemblyperson, former PKR deputy president Syed Husin Ali and PSM chairperson Dr Michael Jeyakumar were also present.
Liu, however, said he had attended on his personal capacity.
Asyraf claimed that returning former CPM leader Chin Peng's ashes to Malaysia was just the first step in altering the nation's historical narrative.
“It seems that in the era of the Harapan government, all quarters are given a place in Malaysia Baru
“LGBT, LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam), communist terrorists. I wonder what is next,” he added.
Previously, 12 individuals, including two DAP assemblypersons, were charged under the Security Offences and Special Measures Act (Sosma) for attempting to revive the defunct LTTE, which Malaysian authorities consider a terrorist organisation.
Last week, Deputy Minister R Sivarasa dropped a bombshell that the arrests and charging of the 12 were carried out by deep state elements in the police force and Attorney-General's Chambers.
He also claimed that the order to charge the 12 were signed when Attorney-General Tommy Thomas was abroad.
Federal police's prosecution and law division principal assistant director Mior Farid Alathrash said an investigation is being carried out into the allegations.
Meanwhile, Umno Youth exco Najmil Faiz Mohamed Aris described 2019 as a “dark and embarrassing” year for all Malaysians.
“Before this, LTTE terrorists were 'protected' by DAP leaders and now, communists terrorists are portrayed as national heroes.
“DAP leaders like Ronnie Liu are traitors for supporting the communist struggle and admitting that his grandfather and brother were also involved,” he added, according to Umno Online.
Najmil said those who were part of the communist movement cannot be regarded as warriors as such a term could only be used to describe members of the armed forces and police who sacrificed their lives to battle CPM.
“The communists are traitors and those who support and acknowledge this ideology do not deserve to be in Malaysia because this nation was built on the sacrifices of the armed forces and police.
“This group is deliberately testing the patience of Malaysians by reviving the communist struggle because DAP is the government today.
“Why are the Malay parties in Harapan silent on this issue?” he asked.
