Umno today dropped hints aimed at asking the PAS to let Umno be part of the Terengganu state government.
Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this would allow two former Terengganu menteri besars from Umno, who are still elected representatives, to share their experience.
"We have not put any conditions thus far, but in the name of Muafakat Nasional, ada ubi tentu ada batas (surely there is reciprocation), we are not asking, but menanam ubi mestilah ubi itu berisi (there must be something to it).
"We are not asking, but in the name of cooperation, maybe the composition of the state government could be looked at in the future.
"There can be consideration to learn from the experience of (former menteri besars) Ahmad Said and Ahmad Razif (Abdul Rahman), from former excos who are still assemblypersons, God willing we will share our experience to govern the state even better.
"This is not a demand... not a condition, not even asking for consideration, but think about it," he said.
He was speaking at the launch of the Terengganu Umno convention today. His speech was streamed live on Facebook.
Umno and PAS signed a charter last month to formalise an alliance they dub Muafakat Nasional.
Following this, there have been talks by both parties about letting each other into their respective state governments. PAS controls Terengganu and Kelantan, while Umno controls Perlis and Pahang.
Meanwhile earlier last night, Zahid on behalf of Umno, apologised wholeheartedly to PAS for mistakes they've made over the past 61 years while they were on opposite ends.
However, he hoped that can be in the cabinet together in after the next general election.
