Police have received a report in connection with the case of an insult made towards the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Riyatuddin Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah on Twitter today.

In a statement issued tonight, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Huzir Mohamed said police had accordingly opened an investigation under Section 4 of the Sedition Act 1948.

Earlier today, the local media reported that following the incident, Tunku Azizah’s Twitter account had been deactivated.
