In conjunction with the 62nd celebration of Merdeka, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah and the Malaysian cabinet recorded a unique version of the Francissca Peter song Setia.
The king was joined by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu and the rest of the cabinet.
Images of them singing the song in the studio were interspersed with footage of Malaysian workers and students going about their daily life.
The video, which lasts three minutes and 32 seconds ends with the leaders waving the national flag, the Jalur Gemilang.
In the mid-1980s, Peter's song was widely played on national radio and television and came to symbolise a burgeoning pride in Malaysia's national development.
