Selangor PKR leadership council member Rodziah Ismail has called on the disciplinary board to look into the issue of party leaders being absent from meetings, according to Sinar Harian.
Without referring to any particular leader, she said: "I think that the disciplinary board should look into the matter (according to the party constitution)."
She was asked about whether PKR leaders who were frequently absent from party meetings should be referred to the disciplinary board.
It was reported that several PKR leaders, especially PKR deputy president Azmin Ali, PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin and Selangor PKR chief Amirudin Shari, did not attend the PKR central leadership council meeting held on Aug 25.
This was despite PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail issuing a reminder for all leaders to attend the meeting.
According to Rodziah, the PKR president had stressed the attendance issue during the party's retreat in Port Dickson last month.
She said the PKR central leaders should prioritise their attendance even if they hold an important government position.
Rodziah added that leaders should be aware and observe the party's rules, including prioritising the party's meetings and programme over other matters.
