Hotelier Khoo Boo Lim has "rescued" tourists who faced bad deals with illegal hotels in the state, saying such incidents tarnish the good name of the tourism industry in Penang.

Last month, he offered a Spanish family complimentary rooms in the hotel where he serves as general manager, after they had a bad experience with an Airbnb accomodation.
