Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who is at the centre of a high-profile sex scandal, insisted that he is a victim as well.
“Everyone forgets I am a victim as well because someone recorded and leaked what should have been a private moment,” he told The Sun.
The Santubong PKR Youth chief also claimed to be in the dark about the perpetrators behind the leak when asked if he had revealed the details to the police.
Haziq, 27, also praised the police for treating him well during his detention following his arrest at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last Friday.
“They treated me well. The policemen in charge of watching me were very professional and they stayed neutral,” he said.
Haziq, who was released on police bail the following day, also revealed that his family has been supportive.
“They (his parents and siblings) know I need all the support they can give right now... It will take some time to heal but I have my family with me always,” he added.
Last week, several unknown individuals had leaked the sex video clips via Whatsapp groups.
Haziq, in a “confession” posted on his Facebook, claimed to be the person in the clip showing him engaging in sexual acts with an individual resembling Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali.
He also claimed that it was Azmin in the clips and that their alleged tryst was recorded in the minister's hotel room in Sandakan during the by-election for the parliamentary seat last month.
Azmin has described the videos as a nefarious plot to ruin his political career.
The police are investigating the video and determining if the clips are authentic.
