Perak ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah has summoned leaders from six political parties over the use of mosques and surau for political activities.
The leaders summoned are from Bersatu, Amanah, PKR, DAP, Umno and PAS, according to Berita Harian.
They include Perak Bersatu chief Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who is also the state menteri besar, Perak Amanah chief Asmuni Awi, Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak and Perak DAP advisor Ngeh Koo Ham who is also Perak assembly speaker.
On the opposition side, the summoned leaders were Perak Umno liaison chief Saarani Mohamad and Perak PAS commissioner Razman Zakaria.
The report, quoting sources, said the leaders had an audience with Sultan Nazrin at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar at 4 pm today.
The royal summons comes in wake of political parties organising Ramadan events at places of worship with some of the activities carrying party logos.
Earlier today, Perak Amanah Youth chief Hasnul Zakarnain Abdul Munaim had complained that the logos of opposition parties were seen at least four such events.
