The fate of the Islamic Economic Development Foundation (Yapeim) director-general Abibullah Samsudin will only be known in one or two days' time, according to trustee Ghafar Ismail.
Ghafar said Yapeim may hold a press conference or issue a press release on the matter, which involves a senior officer of the board.
“Wait one or two more days, Insya Allah. I cannot say anything until a press release is issued or the board of directors calls the press to clarify the situation,” he told reporters after a Yapeim Ramadan programme near Pontian today.
Ghafar was asked to comment on whether Abibullah is still with the Yapeim board of directors.
Two days ago, PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil lodged a police report on a video recording of a man, believed to be Abibullah, attempting to influence Yapeim staff before the last general election.
In the video, the man was seen threatening his staff not to vote for Pakatan Harapan before the 14th General Election.
Asked if the board had taken disciplinary action against Abibullah, Ghafar said several actions have been taken, but none of which are disciplinary.
This, he said, includes the setting up of a special internal audit taskforce in November to look into the issue, based on a report from PwC PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia.
He said Yapeim staff are permanent, so any action will have to accord to proper channels and processes.
“And the process has to be transparent and clear, as we do not want to make a wrong decision or to sentence a person without evidence,” he said.
Today's Yapeim programme was also attended by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Mujahid Yusof Rawa.
