Umno vice president Ismail Sabri Yaakob has quit as Selangor Umno chairperson effective May 1.

In a statement today, Ismail said Selangor Umno deputy chairperson Mat Nadzari Ahmad Dahlan will assume the role of acting chairperson.

This pending an announcement from Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan, who is also carrying of the duties of the president, on who will be appointed to the post.
