Osman Sapian is set to reveal why he resigned as Johor menteri besar on Saturday.
Speaking to Bernama today, Osman said the explanation would be made after an audience with Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
However, he did not state how the clarification would be made, whether through a press conference or a statement.
“Insya Allah, on April 13 (I will make a clarification) after having an audience with the ruler,” he said in a WhatsApp message.
Osman was asked to clarify whether the decision to resign from the post was made in the interest of the existing Johor Pakatan Harapan government or otherwise.
Previously, there was speculation that Osman’s position would be taken over following various controversies he was implicated in while administering the state.
However, it was only yesterday that the rumour was confirmed, after Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced that Osman would quit effective Monday.
Osman, 67, was the 16th menteri besar of Johor and is believed to have served the shortest – stepping down less than 11 months after taking his oath of office on May 12 last year.
