Johor Sultan Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar is in talks with a “hypermarket” to operate in Johor and sell goods at lower prices.
In making the announcement on Facebook yesterday, Sultan Ibrahim said the hypermarket concerned has “guaranteed” it would be able to price its goods at rates 10 percent lower, while ensuring quality of said goods.
This, according to a statement by the Royal Press Office posted on social media, would especially be of help to low-income residents of the state.
“The sultan, who is now on a personal trip to the Middle East, also thinks of the needs of the people.
“His Highness the sultan of Johor plans to engage in a strategic cooperation with a major hypermarket to operate in Johor.
“The hypermarket has guaranteed they can sell goods at rates 10 percent lower, and at the same time, guarantee their quality,” the post read.
The hypermarket concerned was not identified, however, but the sultan’s post indicated that he would be making another announcement on the matter soon.
