Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin has claimed that his car was torched by the "terrorists" yesterday morning.
"After watching the CCTV (footage), I drew the conclusion that this was the work of terrorists who can endanger lives," he said in a Facebook posting today.
"Let us pray the two individuals mentioned by the Perlis police chief will be quickly arrested.
"Even if I have to drive a Kancil as (my) car was burnt, but with the help of Allah, my spirit is that of a lion," he said.
Asri said he was told by the Fire and Rescue Department that there was no sabotage and the fire had started internally.
However, Perlis police chief Noor Mushar Mohd had said the source of the fire could have been from a petrol bomb.
The case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code, which concerns mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage.
If found guilty, a person can be jailed for up to 14 years and shall be liable to a fine.
