Thirty areas in the peninsula are reported to be in the alert level, with temperatures up to 37°C today, compared with 23 areas yesterday.
Based on the Meteorological Department updated reading as at 4.45pm today, the seven new areas are Pulau Langkawi, Bayan Lepas, Kuala Krai, Selama, Manjung, Jempol, Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah.
Meanwhile, Chuping, Sik, Baling, Kulim, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Batang Padang, Jerantut, Raub, Temerloh, Maran, Bentong, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Selangor, Sepang, Klang, Petaling, Rembau, Jelebu, Tangkak and Kuala Lumpur remained at Level 1.
Pendang remains at Level Two, with temperatures between 37°C and 40°C since March 17.
Port Dickson, meanwhile, which recorded the maximum temperature of less than 35 degrees Celcius yesterday, was reported to have returned to Level 1 today.
Sabah and Sarawak recorded a daily maximum temperature of less than 35°C.
