SEMENYIH POLLS | Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak says he and his wife Rosmah Mansor will visit Kampung Minang if BN emerges victorious in the Semenyih by-election.
Kampung Minang is a village with a substantial Minangkabau community on the fringe of Kajang.
At a ceramah there last night, Najib told the crowd that his wife was of Minangkabau descent, but she could not join him because he was campaigning.
"But if I win, I can bring her to this village. Can or not, ladies and gentlemen?" he asked, according to The Malaysian Insight.
Since last year's general election, Rosmah has rarely appeared in public, and is not part of Najib's recent 'Bossku' makeover.
Both Najib and Rosmah are facing multiple criminal trials.
Semenyih goes to the polls on March 2, with early voting taking place on Feb 26.
BN candidate Zakaria Hanafi will face off against Pakatan Harapan's Muhammad Aiman Zainali, PSM's Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul and independent Kuan Chee Heng.
