Celebrity chef Redzuawan Ismail, better known as Chef Wan, said he was sorry for losing his temper and using harsh language against Najib Abdul Razak, but maintained his position that the former prime minister had hurt Felda.
"To Najib, I make an open apology for the harsh language I used when I was angry.
"If we've made a big mistake, we must swallow our pride and admit our mistakes as I have done this morning," he said.
Chef Wan's posting was made on Instagram, which was set as private. Malaysiakini has obtained Chef Wan's permission to reproduce his Instagram posting.
Chef Wan said his apology does not negate his opinion about Felda.
"That does not mean what I argued last night is incorrect as I stand on Allah's name to speak out the truth.
"To Najib's supporters, all I can say is don't be instigators. You all can fly your kites and say whatever you want to say about me as I don't care," he said.
Yesterday, Chef Wan said he wanted to "slap" Najib who had visited his home village in Felda Sungai Koyan for claiming that his administration saw a "golden age" for Felda.
Chef Wan said despite the many handouts, Najib presided over corruption in Felda that has now driven the agency to financial difficulties.
In his posting today, Chef Wan also reiterated the need to work hard and not expect handouts which were common under the previous government.
