CAMERON POLLS | Disputed MyPPP president Maglin D'Cruz has warned Pakatan Harapan against trusting his rival, M Kayveas.
"Don't be trapped by his self-serving politics of lies and deceit," Maglin said in a statement today.
Kayveas, who also claims to be MyPPP president, had earlier announced that he would be supporting Harapan in the Cameron Highlands by-election.
He also said that he supported Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, Maglin rubbished Kayveas' ability to sway votes in Cameron Highlands.
"Previous claims that Kayveas had 3,000 (MyPPP) members who would vote for him are not true at all.
"That number is far from the census (of MyPPP members in Cameron Highlands) we did during the general election," he said.
However, Maglin did not provide figures as to how many members the party has in the constituency.
MyPPP was embroiled in a leadership struggle in April last year. Kayveas had claimed that he had stepped down as the party president, while most of his party leaders claimed he was sacked.
Five days later, Kayveas declared that he was "retracting" his resignation letter and resuming duties as party president.
Since that episode, two groups of MyPPP members - one led by Kayveas and another led by Maglin - have been claiming control over the party.
