PKR member Latheefa Koya's accusation of cronyism and nepotism in the appointment of party state chiefs has raised the ire of certain quarters.
Tomorrow, some 30 PKR members would file a report with the party's disciplinary board against the lawyer, who is aligned to deputy president Azmin Ali.
A press release on the matter accused Latheefa of making baseless allegations which smeared the reputation of the party and its president Anwar Ibrahim.
Speaking to Malaysiakini later, PKR Klang division information chief Mohd Farazi Mohd Shah said members from Pahang would also be present at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya tomorrow to lodge the report.
“We want to request the disciplinary board to take action against her. We will talk more about this at a press conference tomorrow,” he added.
Hours after Latheefa's statement on Monday, Anwar's daughter, Nurul Izzah, announced her resignation as PKR vice-president and the party's Penang chief.
Later that day, Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim also turned down his appointment as the Johor PKR chief, claiming that the selection process for state heads was not transparent.
Yesterday, Nurul told Malaysiakini that she would not retract her decision despite 13 Penang PKR divisions appealing for her to do so.
"I am touched (by the appeals). But, no," she said.
