A top Lembaga Tabung Haji executive has been arrested by the MACC for allegedly misusing an interior design firm that is a subsidiary of the fund.
According to a source, the executive is under investigation for engaging the firm to build wardrobes in his own home.
Malaysiakini is contacting the MACC for further information.
The Tabung Haji executive is believed to carry the title of 'datuk'.
He is expected to be brought to the Putrajaya Magistrates' Court tomorrow for a remand hearing.
Tabung Haji has come under the spotlight in recent weeks, after independent auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) found that it had previously cooked its books in an attempt to justify to dividend payments to depositors.
According to PwC, what Tabung Haji did was essentially pay dividends out of depositors' own funds.
The new Tabung Haji management had also lodged police reports against its previous office bearers over alleged wrongdoings.
