Nurul Najihah, the fiancée of the firefighter injured in the Seafield temple riots, urged her partner to stay strong upon entering their wedding month.

"It's December. Counting to our day. The day we have been waiting for.

"May you stay strong. People are waiting for you," she said in a Facebook posting.

Muhammad Adib Muhammad Kassim, 24, was attacked by rioters in the early hours of Tuesday.

The previous day, the developer that owns the land on which the Seafield Sri Mahariamman temple sits allegedly hired a group of men to secure the site.

This led to clashes between the hired hands and temple devotees, which then escalated into riots.

Supporters of the temple gathered on early Tuesday morning, which led to a second round of rioting.

Adib was part of the Fire and Rescue Department team that arrived on the scene after rioters torched several vehicles.

He was reportedly dragged out of his vehicle and beaten up, suffering several broken ribs and injured organs, landing him in intensive care unit.

Adib was due to get married this month.

Doctors say that his condition is improving after being treated with specialised equipment at the National Heart Institute.
