Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, two former ministers, an ex-deputy minister and three others are reportedly expected to face charges soon.
Berita Harian reports that Najib, his former aide, and an ex-minister will soon face charges over an RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project for schools in Sarawak.
In June, Malaysiakini reported that Najib allegedly instructed the Education Ministry in 2017 to directly appoint a company for a solar hybrid project meant to supply electricity to 369 rural schools in Sarawak.
A special officer to Najib and former education minister Mahdzir Khalid have been questioned by the MACC over the matter.
Meanwhile, another former minister is expected to be charged over the sale of Kuala Lumpur City Hall land.
Former federal territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor revealed last month that he had been questioned by the MACC 12 times in its probe into the DBKL land deals.
As for the deputy minister, charges are expected to be filed in relation to the alleged misappropriation of RM25 million from the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).
An MP is also facing charges of allegedly raking in millions of ringgit in commissions by acting as a middleman for government projects.
Meanwhile, the New Straits Times reported yesterday that former Felda chairperson Mohd Isa Abdul Samad may also be charged soon for alleged abuse of power during his time helming the government-linked company.
