PKR POLLS | PKR deputy presidential candidate Rafizi Ramli claims to have taken the lead in the race against incumbent Azmin Ali after a major victory in Perak.
In a blog entry, he said that he had bagged 6,700 votes in the state, against 4,359 votes for Azmin.
The PKR election committee has since confirmed the Perak tally in a Twitter post, but detailed results are not yet available.
Rafizi claimed that with this win in Perak, and the conclusion of voting in Kedah, he now has a 995-vote lead against Azmin overall.
Malaysiakini is unable to independently verify Rafizi's claim as of writing, as results from Perak and phase two of voting in Kedah have yet to be fully released.
Rafizi's tally also includes votes from Negeri Sembilan and five of six Malacca divisions.
The results from these two states are in contention as 2,000 votes are missing due to technical errors.
There is a possibility of partial or full re-elections in both states.
The PKR election continues tomorrow with the third and final phase of voting in Selangor.
