Najib Abdul Razak today appeared before MACC for the sixth time to answer questions over 1MDB-related cases.
Sources close to the investigation told Malaysiakini that the former premier was summoned again to have his statement recorded on 1MDB's debt payments to International Petroleum Investment Company (Ipic).
"He was called again today following new findings made by investigators probing 1MDB case," said a source.
It is learnt that the Pekan MP spent over three hours at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, after arriving at 10am. However, he managed to give members of the press the slip when making his exit.
Sources said Najib's appearance today was a continuation of Tuesday's session, when he spent almost seven hours being grilled by investigators.
The former premier was summoned to facilitate investigations under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009, which concerns abuse of power to receive gratification, according to the sources.
They also told Malaysiakini that Najib is expected to face more 1MDB-linked charges soon.
He has thus far been slapped with 32 charges, 25 of which are related to 1MDB, concerning money laundering and abuse of power.
Another seven charges are related to former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International, which involve money laundering, abuse of power, and criminal breach of trust.
