MACC has arrested former Tabung Haji chairperson and Baling MP Azeez Abdul Rahim, along with one of his brothers.
According to an MACC source, the two were detained this morning.
However, the reason for their arrest remains unclear. The MACC is expected to issue a statement on this soon.
On May 23, MACC seized RM500,000 in cash and RM1.2 million in various currencies from Azeez's homes.
Bernama later reported that the raids were to facilitate investigations into the appointment of contractors involving Tabung Haji projects.
The case is being investigated under Section 16 of the MACC Act 2009 pertaining to soliciting or receiving gratification.
Meanwhile, Sinar Harian reported that former premier Najib Abdul Razak's stepson Riza Aziz was also spotted at the MACC headquarters this morning.
The commission had questioned Riza on three previous occasions.
Riza is the CEO of Red Granite Pictures which has been accused of producing several movies, including Oscar-nominated The Wolf of Wall Street, with funds originating from 1MDB.
