Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob is shocked by the news of yet another Umno leader, Anifah Aman, exiting the party today.
This is more to do with the fact that the resignation by these Umno leaders happened within less than 24 hours, beginning last night with Umno supreme council member Mustapa Mohamed (also known as Tok Pa) leaving the party.
"I have yet to obtain information (on the resignations), but members seem to be confused and I hope that the party leadership will call for a meeting at the grassroots level to explain.
"There are reasons only known to himself (Tok Pa). I don't know whether there will be more to follow," said Ismail, who appeared stunned.
However, Ismail stressed that members and leaders who still have the Umno spirit will remain with the party.
"The Umno members will surely be disappointed with their respective constituency leaders," he said.
