PKR president Anwar Ibrahim is not needed in Umno for it to continue to represent the Malays, party secretary-general Annuar Musa said last night.

"Recently, Anwar stated that he would like to work with Umno... Umno has never needed Anwar Ibrahim.

"Umno did not die even after Dr Mahathir Mohamad left the party, and it did not die even 20 years after Anwar left the party. Instead, as long there are young Malays (in the party), we will stand firm...
