Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu has ordered a probe into claims that three military special forces personnel are still working as escorts for former defence minister Hishammuddin Hussein.
"I have ordered an immediate probe to be carried out, and appropriate action will be taken if there is any breach of any current practices or regulations," Mohamad said in a statement.
Earlier today, Malaysiakini reported that two Navy special operations force (Paskal) officers and a commando were still working as escorts for Hishammuddin.
The two Paskal officers are still on active duty, and are to serve the armed forces until 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Details on the commando are scant, but sources say he had been photographed with Hishammuddin this week.
The Armed Forces source claimed the trio were pulling in two salaries, both from Hishammuddin and the military.
Hishammuddin has yet to respond to a request for comment.
