Heavy rain since yesterday resulted in 14 villages and housing areas in Tawau town being flooded.
Head of the Tawau Fire and Rescue Station, Sharudy Delamin said a check by the Fire and Rescue Department found that several main roads and villages were still flooded.
"The villages and housing areas were under about one metre of water including Kampung Pasir Putih Blocks A and C, Kampung Rawa-Rawa, and Taman Maju Jaya.
"While the roads that were inundated included Jalan Chong Thien Vun, Jalan Kuhara and Jalan Utara ," he said when contacted today.
However, Sharudy said there were no schools affected and the water level was under control. There was also no necessity for an evacuation centre to be set up.
