PAS leaders finally endorse Umno

PAS leaders, after being coy over their preference in the Sungai Kandis by-election, finally came out to endorse Umno.

Amanah Youth chief Mohd Sany Hamzan questioned if PAS wanted its members to support corruption and racism.

Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin said he hoped Umno's cooperation with PAS in Sungai Kandis will only be a one-off thing.

Meanwhile, PKR's candidate for the by-election Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni said he was confident about winning over PAS supporters.

Bersih said it will look into claims that Zawawi had campaigned in a school.

Zawawi denied this, stating that he had merely officiated a "fun run" at the school where he used to head the Parent-Teacher Association.

Rafizi unveils his PKR polls team

Rafizi Ramli, who is gunning for the position of PKR deputy president, unveiled his team for the party election.

Bukit Katil MP Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin endorsed Anwar Ibrahim to be the PKR president and Azmin Ali for the post of deputy president.

PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail dismissed factionalism in the party, stressing that the democratic contest for leadership will strengthen the party.

Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul said allegations of nepotism against Selangor PKR must be investigated as its reputation as the leader of the Selangor government is at stake.

Khazanah's misadventure

Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad is reportedly angry with Khazanah Nasional for losing RM3 billion in an investment that went awry.

Iskandar Puteri MP Lim Kit Siang questioned how low could former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak go by claiming that the DAP leader was equating Islam and kleptocracy.

Najib insisted that that was indeed the case and wanted Lim to apologise.
