The MACC has frozen Umno and Selangor Umno's bank accounts, said acting Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He revealed this during an event in Johor Bahru today, according to staronline.
"It is almost certain that after this, MACC will freeze Johor Umno's account as well, following the move," he said.
He was speaking at the Johor Umno Aidilfitri event at Hotel M Suites.
"There is no guarantee that the Umno president, his deputy, vice-presidents and supreme council members will not be investigated because we are no longer in government.
"This also includes former menteri besar," he said, according to Utusan Online.
It is possible that the freezing of the accounts was related to ongoing investigations against former Umno president Najib Abdul Razak.
It is a widely known practice that the Umno president was to hold the party's war chest in trust.
Following BN's loss during the May 9 elections, the authorities have raided premises which were allegedly linked to Najib and seized cash and valuables which were allegedly worth up to RM1 billion.
In an exclusive interview with Malaysiakini yesterday, Najib said it was necessary to hold cash to fund election campaigns.
