The new Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu is scheduled to present the list of candidates to be appointed as state executive councillors to the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today.

Ahmad Faizal, who is also Perak Pakatan Harapan chairperson, said he would announce the names of the councillors once the sultan gave his consent.

A minimum of four and a maximum of 10 elected representatives can be appointed as state executive councillors.

"Of course, the members will comprise representatives of the component parties in Harapan.

“We will try to have the best composition of members from each party," Ahmad Faizal told reporters after a ceremony in Ipoh last night to thank the people of Perak.

The Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, was also present at the event which was attended by more than 2,000 people from around Ipoh.

According to Ahmad Faizal, once the sultan gives his consent, he would inform the State Secretary's Office and following that, the announcement would be made at a press conference.

Ahmad Faizal, who is also Chenderiang state assemblyman, said his party, Bersatu, Harapan would conduct a special evaluation on any individual who intends to join it.

"Everyone has the right to fill in the application form but this does not mean that they will be accepted as a member of Bersatu. We will look into details before making any decision," he said.
