The private secretary to the Yang Dipertua Sabah, Abinan Asli, today delivered a letter of notification stating that Sabah BN chairperson Musa Aman is no longer the chief minister.
When met by reporters in Kota Kinabalu, Abinan said the letter was sent to Musa Aman's secretary Effendy Mohamed Sunoh at about 11.34am after he failed to hand over the letter at Musa's private residence.
He said the notification came into effect on May 12.
Earlier, a delegation from the Istana Negeri, led by Abinan, arrived at Musa's private residence at 11.05am and waited for about 20 minutes outside the house to serve the letter, but to no avail.
Subsequently, the delegation managed to meet Effendy who received the letter.
"I will not open this letter. I only accepted it and will present it to the person concerned," Effendy told Abinan after signing the letter of receipt.
Musa was sworn in as the chief minister of Sabah on May 10 after the party obtained a simple majority of 31 seats with the addition of two seats from Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star).
On the night of May 12, Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal was sworn in as the 15th Chief Minister of Sabah when the BN-Star coalition was denied the simple majority.
Mohd Shafie was appointed the new chief minister when the Warisan-Pakatan Harapan coalition obtained 35 state seats after six BN assemblypersons switched sides.
