Sarawak Pakatan Harapan chief Chong Chieng Jen has voiced out against speculation that PBB might abandon BN and join the new ruling coalition.
"We will not accept any of the Sarawak BN parties joining us, which includes PBB.
"Accepting PBB into Harapan is akin to Umno joining Harapan at the national level," Chong said in a statement today.
He said Sarawak Harapan has fought very hard against the "corrupt" state BN regime, and that allowing them to join the ruling federal coalition would "whitewash" Sarawak BN's corrupt deeds.
As for individual BN members joining Harapan, he said they would be accepted after vetting by the MACC.
Malaysiakini reported that Sarawak Governor Taib Mahmud had met with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday.
Taib is expected to summon Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg for a meeting.
Abang Johari, in turn, is expected to hold an emergency meeting with all Sarawak BN elected representatives next week, to decide on their future with BN.
