Rural and Regional Development Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob is said to be considering to settle a defamation suit filed against him by PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar.

This was disclosed by Nurul Izzah's lawyer Sivarasa Rasiah today, which had been fixed to hear submissions on the matter as all witnesses of the plaintiff and defendant had finished testifying.

Sivarasa told reporters this after meeting Judicial Commissioner Faizah Jamaludin, senior federal counsel Nor Mastura Ayob and Zureen Elina Mohd Dom, who appeared for Ismail, in chambers.

There the parties were informed that Ismail was trying to settle the matter outside the court and needed more time.
