MCA is refusing to close the chapter on Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz's verbal diatribe against billionaire Robert Kuok.
Speaking at an event in Klang last night, party president Liow Tiong Lai told his audience that MCA would “take action” against the Umno minister.
However, he did not specify what action would be taken.
"We are not satisfied with Nazri for disrespecting and condemning Kuok. He must reflect and explain himself.
"This is what the people want, but he has shown no remorse," Liow was quoted as saying by Sin Chew Daily.
Meanwhile, MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon said his party's criticism of Nazri had to do with the latter's unfounded allegations against Kuok and the matter had nothing to do with freedom of speech.
"From day one, we were against Nazri for using insults. He can criticise, but not use such coarse words," Chong said in Seremban.
MCA leaders and Nazri have been engaging in a war of words following allegations by Malaysia Today that Kuok was funding DAP.
Kuok and DAP have denied the allegation while the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) ordered Malaysia Today to remove the articles related to the matter.
In an interview with Malaysiakini, Nazri said he would not apologise to MCA because of his "mature" and "brotherly" relationship with the latter.
The minister also refused to backpedal on the insults he had rained on the 94-year-old Hong Kong-based business magnate.
