Padang Rengas MCA did the right thing by cutting ties with Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz, who is also the Padang Rengas MP, said MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon (above).
Chong told a function in Petaling Jaya today that MCA will not associate themselves with Nazri because of his habit of attacking the party and for being too chummy with DAP.
"It is good that he says we are not his friends. On the Internet, there are photographs of him and his 'friend'. Everyone knows this.
"The Internet is full of photographs of the two of them behaving like brothers in arms," said Chong, according to Kwong Wah Yit Poh.
This was in reference to the fact that Nazri and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had publicly engaged in brotherly embraces numerous times.
Describing the duo as "birds of a feather", Chong said he has never seen Nazri embracing MCA leaders nor will MCA leaders ever do so with "such characters".
This was in response to Nazri claiming that Padang Rengas MCA had tried to sabotage him during the last general election and therefore he does not consider MCA to be his friends.
The minister also said he could not understand why MCA would want to get involved in his criticism of Robert Kuok.
Chong also urged DAP to state their stand on why they chose to remain silent when the Chinese community was being attacked by Nazri and instead attack MCA.
"We spoke up (for Kuok) based on our moral high ground. Instead, DAP abetted Nazri by ganging up on (MCA). What is this world coming to?" asked Chong.
Previously, Chong had equated criticisms against Kuok as criticisms against the Chinese community as a whole.
Following claims by the blog Malaysia Today that Kuok was funding the opposition, Nazri has made several disparaging remarks against the billionaire.
Kuok has since denied the allegations, but MCA Youth has still been dogging Nazri for an apology.
