Lim Kit Siang suffered an injury to his forehead after a fall in the washroom of his Gelang Patah home in Johor last night.

In a statement, the DAP headquarters said the 77-year-old politician received treatment at a nearby clinic.

It said the doctor advised the Gelang Patah MP to rest and therefore he would not be able to attend several scheduled functions.

“Lim is cancelling all his scheduled events this weekend, which includes a coffee shop forum in Gelang Patah this morning and another in Pekan Nenas on Saturday morning.

“He will also miss the 4th anniversary commemoration event for the MH370 tragedy on Saturday afternoon in Kuala Lumpur, ” the statement said.

Lim would also not be able to attend the PKR fundraising dinner in Setia Alam on Sunday night.

According to the statement, a new date would be fixed for Lim's scheduled visit to Sungai Pelek and Sepang, which was to take place this weekend.

The veteran politician recently underwent a surgery to remove a tumour after being diagnosed with stage 1 cancer.
