Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad today rubbished news about Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali contesting in his seat in the 14th general elections.

Calling it an "evil" attempt to pit him against Azmin and their respective parties (Amanah and PKR), Khalid said the matter has already been decided by the Pakatan Harapan election committee.

"I do not know where the rumours came from, we have a committee to decide on seat allocations, and it has decided that the Shah Alam seat is Amanah's.

"Among the principles taken into account by the committee is an incumbent's seat is to be left alone.

"To me, (the news) is untrue and an attempt to pit me against Azmin and our parties, and to tarnish his name as PKR deputy president - it is not possible for him to go against what was decided by the committee and the principles agreed to by the committee.

"As the deputy president of the party, he will set a good example for his party," Khalid told reporters after attending Harapan's presidential council meeting today...
