It would be detrimental to the nation if DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang becomes prime minister, said MCA president Liow Tiong Lai today.
The transport minister claimed that Kit Siang was an unprincipled politician and clever at sowing racial discord.
“Only he knows if he has ambitions of becoming prime minister or deputy prime minister.
“I would say that he is a politician who cannot be trusted and will cause racial disharmony,” Liow told reporters after attending a community event in Paloh, Kluang today.
Liow was commenting on remarks by PAS president Abdullah Hadi Awang that the people should reject the DAP leader whom he said aspired to become prime minister.
Last week, former Jawi assemblyperson and former DAP member Tan Beng Huat claimed that there was talk within DAP that Lim harboured hopes of becoming prime minister, although he has denied it.
Earlier, in his speech, Liow urged the people to support MCA and BN for the sake of the country’s development and racial harmony.
