At least 1,000 people gathered outside the United States Embassy in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon to protest against President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital city.

The crowd comprised leaders and supporters from Umno, PAS and Pakatan Harapan parties as well as those from various Muslim NGOs.

Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin led his members to submit a memorandum of protest to the embassy officials about 2.30pm.

"Mark my words, Trump, we are not here for conflict, but we want to make sure that even the most powerful man in the free world respects international law.

"That you will not continue to insult the feelings of not only Muslims but people all over the world who want to see justice, a safe and independent Palestinian nation," Khairy said when addressing the crowd while standing on a truck parked near the embassy building...
